Blockchain Creates New ‘Lockbox’ Hadrware Wallet

Cryptocurrency data and wallet provider Blockchain has revealed it will offer users a hardware wallet in a new partnership with the French hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger. Lockbox is already post-development with deliveries beginning in mid-November. Commenting on the release, Blockchain CEO and co-founder Peter Smith described it as providing “more functionality than previously existed in our space”.

Alex Winter’s new documentary, “Trust Machine: The Story of Blockchain,” is about to release. Narrated by Hollywood star Rosario Dawson, the film will tell an audience about blockchain and cryptocurrency, it’s rise and influence on everyone’s life. The director Alex Winter, who became well-known after starring in two of the cult-classic “Bill & Ted” movies, in recent years has filmed some technological themed documentaries. Now Winter is set to release “Trust Machine: The Story of Blockchain” on October 26th.

Sony Unveils Contactless Cryptocurrency Hardware Wallet

Japanese technology giant Sony revealed a contactless cryptocurrency hardware wallet in a press release. The unnamed device uses IC smart card technology to communicate with a cryptocurrency network. The company says “This IC card-type cryptocurrency hardware wallet technology not only manages the private keys used for cryptocurrency transactions, but also manages private keys used for other purposes, such as those for permitting the use of personal information using blockchain technology”.

Vietnam’s Largest Telecoms Company Rushes into Blockchain Sphere

The Viettel Enterprise Solutions Corporation has set a goal to become Vietnam’s leading blockchain technology provider in five years. The company is an innovation wing of Vietnam’s largest telecommunications operator Viettel Group, and was established earlier in October to focus on providing information and communication technology solutions to the governmental and commercial sectors, and to assist in building a digital government. Viettel is eager to keep pace with development trends, including blockchain technology.

AMD: ‘Blockchain-related GPU Sales in the Third Quarter Were Negligible

In its quarterly financial report manufacturer AMD revealed that blockchain-related graphics processing unit sales in the third quarter were negligible”. AMD’s Computing and Graphic segment revenue saw a 12 percent increase year-over-year up to $938 million primarily due to strong sales of Ryzen desktop and mobile products. Blockchain-related GPU sales were not significant in the third quarter. The average selling price of GPUs also decreased due to lower GPU channel sales.

Big Agriculture Companies to Use Blockchain

The world’s four largest agriculture companies have partnered to digitize international grain trading by using blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies. ABCD, composed of Archer Daniels Midland Co., Bunge Ltd., Cargill Inc., and Louis Dreyfus Co., states that blockchain implementation could make trading more efficient and transparent, as well as reduce costs. Blockchain and AI will be used to automate grain and oilseed post-trade execution processes. Later ABCD plans to integrate blockchain technology on different levels of the supply chain, including shipping, storage, and customer experience.
