Swiss Crypto Banks Receive Licenses From Financial Regulator
The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority has reportedly granted two banking and securities dealer licenses to crypto-focused banks. Two Swiss crypto-specializing firms, Seba Crypto AG and Sygnum have received banking and securities dealer licenses. With the new license, Seba expects to officially launch its new trading platform in early October 2019. Sygnum said that regulatory approval will allow it to bring its digital asset offerings to market, which include custody and integrated liquidity platform for major digital currencies including Bitcoin, Ether, and digital Swiss Franc tokens.

The cryptocurrency firm has only just been issued a conditional banking and securities dealer license in Switzerland — and now aims to become a fully regulated bank on the island nation so it can provide a full suite of financial services.

French police have shut down a massive botnet that has been used for Monero cryptojacking. The botnet was distributed by sending virus-laden emails with offers for erotic pictures or fast cash, and further propagated through infected USB drives. The virus, called Retadup, ultimately infected 850,000 computers in over 100 countries — thus creating a massive botnet.
