Tech giant Google has reached out to Vitalik Buterin and offered the Ethereum founder a place in a secret blockchain project the corporation has been working on for a while. Vitalik tweeted the screenshot of the email from Google and created a poll among his followers, asking whether he should join the corporation.
According to the posted screenshot, the person who invited Vitalik to Google is Elizabeth Garcia. The email read:
“Hi Vitalik, I hope you are doing well and enjoying the weekend! […] Google make sense for you now or in the near future […].”
The question Buterin attached to the poll was “Should I drop Ethereum and work for Google?”. From 2000 people who took part in the poll, 60% advised Vitalik to stay in the Ethereum project. The poll, however, was later deleted, as it turned out it contained confidential info belonging to the Google employee.
Vitalik Buterin is a key figure in the Ethereum project, and his departure from the project seems highly unlikely. Lately he has been working on developing scaling solutions for Ethereum blockchain and advocating for the switch to the Proof-of-Stake protocol.
Although Google banned all crypto-related advertisement on all its services, the company consistently demonstrates its interest in blockchain technology. It is reported that their blockchain project involves transaction verification. Moreover, the company announced its own blockchain-based cloud storage.
